The Blackstar ID:X is a new generation of advanced DSP modeling amplifiers designed for guitarists who demand intuitive control, powerful tones, and flexible connectivity. Available in both 50 Watt and 100 Watt models, the ID:X delivers a market-leading streamlined user experience with unmatched sound quality and versatility.
Built on the foundation of Blackstar’s acclaimed and award-winning ID:Series, Silverline, and AMPED, the ID:X introduces a discreet user-friendly OLED display, providing instant visual feedback and access to editing settings and effects without the need to dive into menus or external devices. The amplifiers feature six meticulously designed sounds, covering everything from sparkling cleans to Blackstar’s high-gain signature tones, all controlled by a powerful four-band EQ section and the patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature), allowing you to shape your sound with clinical precision.
Effects
With over 35 onboard effects spanning overdrives, distortions, modulation, delays, and reverb, each effect can be edited directly from the amplifier using simple real-time encoders. This makes it easy to tweak and switch between different effect types and parameters during a gig.
IR-Based Technology
The ID:X also features Blackstar’s latest IR-based CabRig™ technology, offering powerful speaker and microphone simulation, along with the new In The Room™ technology. This creates the experience of standing next to the amplifier while playing, rather than the more studio-focused sound of traditionally recorded IRs. You can choose between EL84, EL34, and 6L6 tube responses to tailor the amplifier’s dynamic feel to your preference. Up to 99 presets can be created and saved, with easy recall via the front panel or using the compatible FS-12 or FS-18 footswitches (sold separately). The amplifiers are fully integrated with Blackstar’s Architect software, providing in-depth editing, patch management, and access to a growing online community where you can create, share, and download patches with other users and artists.

With a full range of modern connections—including a balanced XLR output*, USB-C for recording, a ¼-inch line output, headphone output, MIDI input and thru*, and an aux input—the ID:X is ready for everything from silent practice and studio sessions to full live performances. Selectable power modes (including a 1W setting for quiet play) make it just as suitable for late-night inspiration as it is for full-stage performances.
