The bass drum and the tom-tom

Most people are familiar with the bass drum. It's the big floor drum that you strike with a foot pedal. But the snare drum - what kind of drum is it?

The snare drum isn't necessarily part of a basic drum kit, so not everyone is familiar with it. It's a bit like the snare drum - the one with the sharp and slightly rattling sound. The tom is just deeper than the snare drum (both in sound and appearance) and so it doesn't rattle.

The snare drum is available for hanging on a stand-alone stand or for attaching to the bass drum. It's also available as a floor drum - it's the deepest of them all. When you hear a really good drum fill, it's usually the tom that's in play.

Change the skins on your drums

If you play a lot, it's a good idea to change the skins on your drums once a year. But this is something you have to feel your way through. You don't have to wait until the skin cracks. But when it starts to lose its sound, you should change it. This may not happen at the same time for all the drums in your drum kit.

If you're also in need of a snare drum? Or are you looking for a new set of drumsticks?
