Carl Martin Dual Compressor Limiter
The Carl Martin Dual Compressor Limiter builds upon the legacy of Carl Martin’s acclaimed compressor designs, combining musicality, control, and flexibility in a single compact pedal. With two built-in presets, you can quickly switch between different compression settings—ideal for alternating between rhythm and lead playing or adapting to changing dynamic needs.

What does a compressor do to your sound?
A compressor reduces the difference between the loudest and quietest notes in your playing. This creates a more even sound where notes don't get lost in the mix and hard picks don't jump out aggressively. The result is improved control, increased sustain, and a more focused, professional sound—whether live or in the studio.

Advanced compression with natural results
The Dual Compressor Limiter delivers studio-quality compression ranging from subtle dynamic smoothing to a pronounced, sustain-rich "squeeze." At lower settings, the pedal can "glue" your sound together and provide consistent volume, while higher compression yields longer sustain and more defined single notes. A shared Threshold control determines when compression engages, while each preset features its own Comp and Level controls, allowing for precise fine-tuning of response and output.

Two presets – practical for performance
Presets allow you to switch between light and heavy compression, letting you quickly adjust dynamics and sustain for different sections of your playing. This makes the pedal highly practical for both live and studio use, where rapid dynamic shifts may be required.

Parallel compression with Dry Blend
The built-in Dry control enables parallel compression, blending your unprocessed signal with the compressed signal. This preserves your pick attack, nuances, and playing feel, while the compression adds body, sustain, and stability.

Signal chain placement
The Dual Compressor Limiter typically performs best early in the signal chain—right after the guitar or following wah or pitch effects. Here, it stabilizes the signal before it hits drive pedals and the amplifier, though it can also be used later in the chain to even out levels and control peaks.

Clarity, headroom, and practical pedalboard design
The pedal operates on an internal ±12V voltage, providing extra headroom, lower noise, and improved clarity—even at higher output levels and with heavy compression. Its compact, rugged construction makes it suitable for pedalboards, live performance, and studio use alike.
