Ernie Ball Everlast Coated acoustic guitar strings are produced using advanced nanotechnology that is resistant to moisture and oils. This helps preserve tone and playability longer than uncoated strings. Ernie Ball’s proprietary treatment is applied to both the inner hex-shaped core and the outer winding wire to provide maximum protection without compromising tone or feel. Everlast Coated is made from 80% copper and 20% zinc wire, wrapped around a hex-shaped brass-plated steel core wire. The result is a crisp, ringing tone with pleasant overtones.
