The Sigma SOMR-35HM Limited is an all-solid OM acoustic guitar featuring an AAA-grade Engelmann spruce top, solid Madagascar rosewood back and sides, and a stunning three-piece back made from Madagascar rosewood with an East Indian rosewood center strip. The neck is crafted from mahogany and fitted with an ebony fingerboard, complemented by classic 28-style appointments.
A western-style guitar featuring Engelmann spruce offers characteristics that lead many guitarists to prefer it over the more commonly used Sitka spruce. Engelmann spruce is highly responsive, requiring very little energy to produce a rich, vibrant tone. It delivers a warm sound with excellent dynamic range and can handle powerful playing styles while maintaining clarity and balance.
About Sigma Guitars
Back in 1970, C.F. Martin & Co. introduced the Sigma brand, allowing customers to purchase Martin-designed, Asian-produced guitars at a more affordable price point. Production was discontinued for several years, but the Sigma name has since returned.
The Sigma name has been acquired independently from the Martin organization, and the company behind Sigma today is not affiliated with the historic American brand. However, the models are still based on the classic designs and traditions established in Pennsylvania, USA.
A Sigma 18-style model therefore features mahogany back and sides (and includes an “M” in the model designation), while a 12-28 model is a 12-string guitar with rosewood back and sides. A 000 model is a fingerstyle-friendly guitar with the same body dimensions as the corresponding Martin model.
Sigma Guitars is a well-established brand known for producing high-quality, affordable acoustic guitars. Sigma’s careful craftsmanship and use of quality materials have made the brand a popular choice among both beginners and experienced guitarists worldwide. With a broad range of models, Sigma Guitars continues to deliver excellent value and reliable performance.
