First introduced in 1962 as Gibson’s second square-shoulder acoustic guitar model (following the legendary Hummingbird™), the Gibson Dove™ has become one of the most recognizable acoustic guitars ever made. It has been played by legendary artists including Elvis Presley, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Alex Lifeson, and Frank Hannon, among many others.

In collaboration with Gibson Custom, Epiphone proudly presents the Epiphone 1963 Dove Reissue — a highly authentic recreation of the iconic early Dove models from 1963.

This beautifully crafted acoustic guitar features a thermally aged solid spruce top with traditional scalloped X-bracing made from quarter-sawn solid spruce, providing excellent resonance and projection. The back and sides are made from solid figured maple, delivering the bright, clear tone maple is known for, while also offering slightly more low-end warmth than a Hummingbird. The result is a balanced and versatile sound that works well across a wide range of musical styles.

The one-piece thermally aged mahogany neck has a comfortable Rounded profile and a 25.5" scale length. It is paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard featuring 20 standard frets and elegant split parallelogram mother-of-pearl inlays.

The 1963 Dove Reissue is richly detailed with classic appointments throughout. The body features multi-ply binding on the top and back, while the dove-shaped rosewood bridge plate includes two mother-of-pearl dove inlays. A compensated bone saddle, along with a bone nut and bridge pins, helps provide excellent tone, sustain, and tuning stability.

The iconic Dove pickguard features a detailed mother-of-pearl dove design. The headstock is equipped with Kluson® Waffleback tuners with metal Keystone buttons for reliable tuning performance. It also features a two-ply black and white truss rod cover engraved with “DOVE,” aged mother-of-pearl Epiphone and Gibson Crown inlays, and the classic Gibson-style “open book” headstock shape with the Inspired by Gibson Custom double diamond logo on the back.

Ready for both stage and studio use, the 1963 Dove Reissue comes equipped with an integrated L.R. Baggs™ Element Bronze VTC pickup and preamp system, providing natural amplified tone and easy control during live performances or recording sessions.

A premium Red Line-inspired hardshell case with the Inspired by Gibson Custom logo is included, offering secure protection for this beautiful instrument wherever your music takes you.
