This guitar (serial number 37904) was made in 1987 according to the date stamped on the label. It has a dreadnought style body with a solid Canadian spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck. There is ivoroid binding on the body and rosette in a multi-stripe pattern, a tortoise teardrop pick guard, an ebony bridge with white abalone dot pins, a 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl inlays and a 25.5" scale, six-per-side, six-per-side, encapsulated maho tuners, and a chrome off-head. Abalone Yairi logo. This is an impressive guitar.
Even more impressive is its playability and its huge sound. The frets have very little wear on them, the neck is surprisingly comfortable, measuring 1 11/16" at the nut. The 38-year seasoning of the high-quality solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides make this a resonant guitar where you'll find great big bass and clear sounding trebles.
The built-in passive pickup (NB Ducer PR-400) has three-band EQ.
There are usage marks and small scratches on the guitar. It has a fantastic patina.
