The JSM100 is a guitar that was released on the market in 1991 and has been John's constant companion since then. The guitar is a classic 335a-like classic design in the absolute top tier of guitars, i.e. a half-thick semi-hollowbody body with a set-in neck and a continuous middle stock.

The neck is a JSM set-in neck in mahogany with a Compound Radius ebony fingerboard.
Compound Radius can best be described as a successful combination of the best of two worlds. The fingerboard is more arched at the low frets for easy and comfortable chord playing and then flattens out more the higher up the neck you go to be optimal for solo playing.
The fret markings are pearl and abalone block inlays of traditional cut, stylish and timeless.
The pickups are classic Ibanez Super 58, a pickup that needs no introduction.
