RGIXL7-BKF (Black Flat) Iron Label, 7-string, 27" long scale

Ibanez describes the series as “Iron Label – metal to the core,” which precisely defines the essence of the Iron Label line: guitars optimized for the demands modern metal places on an instrument. These are among the most uncompromising and heavy-sounding models on the market. That said, the guitars are naturally versatile and suitable for all genres—they are not limited to metal alone.

The RGIXL7 is a 7-string guitar with an extended 27" scale length, providing increased string tension and enhanced stability in the lower registers. This results in more precise intonation and a tighter, more defined low end when downtuned.

The neck features the Nitro Wizard profile and is constructed from maple and Purpleheart, paired with a Macassar ebony fretboard. The body is made of nyatoh and equipped with Fusion Edge pickups from DiMarzio.

The pronounced and well-defined high-end response ensures that the guitar cuts effectively through dense and compressed mixes without sounding thin or harsh. Chord and riff playing feel tight and responsive with excellent string separation, while melody and lead work deliver strong attack and articulation. Even fast passages retain clear note definition—provided the playing technique is up to the task.

Bridge: Gibraltar Standard II-7

The guitar is fitted with a Gibraltar Standard II-7 bridge—a solid and stable design with a classic aesthetic. The bridge ensures efficient transfer of string vibration to the body, maximizing sustain and tonal depth. The entire surface of the bridge is smooth and ergonomically shaped, with no sharp edges or protrusions that could interfere with the picking hand or get in the way during palm-muted riffs.
