The PRS SE Silver Sky is the result of a continued close collaboration between Grammy-winning guitarist John Mayer and Paul Reed Smith himself. A few years ago, they jointly created John Mayer's signature model, the Silver Sky. Like its predecessor, the SE edition combines the sound of a vintage guitar with all the advantages of a new instrument, but at a completely different price, without compromising on quality.
Details that set this guitar apart from the crowd include the shape of the headstock, the tuning pegs, the bridge, the pickups, and the neck. The headstock shape is based on the PRS design, but inverted. Both to accommodate Mayer's playing style, but also to optimize the length of the strings behind the saddle, which helps maintain the tone.
