Inspired by Ted McCarty with 2 split-coil humbuckers, 24.594" scale, 22 frets and two-piece bridge. Black Gold Burst.
The SE series has another addition with the McCarty models. This classic design is inspired by one of the pioneers of guitar history, Ted McCarty, who gave us the ES-335, the Tune-o-matic bridge system, the humbucker, the Flying V and much, much more during his time as CEO of Gibson in the 50s and 60s. Paul Reed Smith sought out Ted, who became a mentor to Paul and passed on his knowledge and way of thinking. PRS SE The McCarty 594 gets its nickname from the neck measuring 24.594".
The two 58/15 LT "S" pickups are designed by PRS to deliver a warm, rounded tone with a fine and clean treble. Easily switch between humbucker and single-coil (push-pull in the volume knobs), making the guitar incredibly versatile. The two-piece zinc bridge and vintage-look tuning screws give the guitar a clear line to its role models, while the now classic PRS body shape and fulge neck inlays add a modern look. SE McCarty beautifully combines timeless guitar virtues with modern design and details in a quality that suggests a much higher price point.
