The 6H2N (often written as 6N2P or 6Н2П in Cyrillic) is a high-gain, miniature dual-triode vacuum tube commonly used in Soviet-era audio equipment and modern amplifiers.
Equivalents: It is the Soviet equivalent of the popular 12AX7 and ECC83 tubes.
Filament Wiring: Unlike the 12AX7, which can run on 6.3V or 12.6V, the 6H2N is 6.3V only. It requires a different pinout for the heater, so it is not a direct drop-in replacement without socket rewiring.
Suffixes:
-EB (EV): Indicates an extended-life (up to 5,000+ hours) and mechanically improved version.
-V: Often denotes higher shock resistance or improved mechanical construction.
Usage: Frequently found in preamplifier stages of hi-fi audio and guitar amplifiers
