Frame grid version of ECC83 made by JJ Electronic.

Frame grid construction was first produced by Siemens in 1952. The most popular frame grid tubes are the Telefunken ECC803S, but also the US manufactured 6922 (E88CC).

    • Allows much higher gain; higher transconductance (Gm)
    • Lower input capacitance, allowing higher limiting frequency
    • Almost no microphonics (rigid frame, resonant frequency of mains wire >20 kHz, beyond hearing limits)
    • Significantly lower noise level
